Philips Lighting, the world leader in lighting, has recently finished a large-scale project that implements the use of connected LED architectural lighting to highlight the facades of 37 buildings, along with the 9.2 km stretch of road in the city center of Ningbo, China.
The project is mainly focused on increasing cultural heritage and tourism in the city. It will also be responsible for increasing the commercial activities in the city center. Additionally, this displays the company’s position as the lighting company for the Internet of Things.
The buildings located along the 9.2-kilometer-long Zhongshan Road brings a lot of tourism. The new lighting system, designed by Tokyo International Lighting Design Center and Huazhang Lighting Design, uses nearly 2,000 Philips Color Kinetics fixtures controlled and managed by Philips ActiveSite software. The LED lighting enhances the beauty of the building’s architecture. It also renders the night sky sparkling in the city’s business district and Ningbo’s main square Tianyi Square.
